Canadian Grand Prix

If you’re a fan of Formula 1 and fast cars, Montreal during the Grand Prix is the place to be. The various F1 teams such as Ferrari, Mercedes, and Red Bull set up stands along Crescent and Peel to show off their merchandise and cars. On top of this, a small stage is set up on Crescent to provide live music. If you want to see the actual race, make sure to buy a ticket beforehand for the Sunday spectacle which takes place on the Circuit Gilles-Villeneuve.

Osheaga

This is the biggest music festival in Montreal and maybe all of Canada. Usually, from late July to early August, this three-day festival features some of the biggest names in music every year. In 2019, the last time it took place, the festival hosted the likes of Flume, Young Thug, and Tame Impala. The festival has already planned for a 2021 edition with the Footfighters, Cardi B, and Post Malone headlining.

Piknic Electronik

Piknic, like the name suggests, is a summer festival dedicated to electronic music. It takes place every Sunday from May to September at Parc Jean-Drapeau. It's a perfect way to spend a sunny summer Sunday with friends in the city.

îlesoniq

Like Piknic, îlesoniq is another electronic music festival that takes place in Montreal. The festival has three stages and hosts over 50 artists during its two day run in August. The 2019 edition featured artists like Marshmello, Alesso, Bad Bunny, and many others.

Igloofest

You may think of Montreal winters as boring due to the frigid temperatures and frightening amount of snow. However, Igloofest provides just as much fun as the summer festivals. Running from January to early February, Igloofest is another electronic music festival, this time taking place in the Old Port. Just make sure to wear a good coat and drink lots of booze to stay warm.
